Microsoft first announced Microsoft Office in Las Vegas on August 1, 1988. Over 30 years later, Microsoft Office continues to live as part of the Microsoft 365 suite, a subscription service driving productivity at over a million companies worldwide. Total Solutions walked in Microsoft’s Las Vegas footsteps to talk about all things M365 Modern Workplace this past June.
I travelled to Las Vegas with my colleague Nick Freling to speak at PATH 2021. PATH is a hospitality leadership summit hosted by Peachtree Hospitality Management, the property management arm of one of our clients, Peachtree Hotel Group.
Hospitality and the M365 Modern Workplace
PATH 2021 took place at The Mirage on the Las Vegas Strip. The conference featured four days of speakers and events for leaders across Peachtree’s dozens of properties around the country.
Our presentation focused on Microsoft 365’s Modern Workplace applications. Modern Workplace is the name that Microsoft has given to Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Yammer, and Outlook. These applications help drive team interaction and collaboration at all kinds of organizations, including hotels.
In our presentation, we discussed the purpose of all the Modern Workplace applications and showed them in action. We wrapped up the presentation with open Q&A from the Peachtree audience. We walked through challenges and other questions that Peachtree’s hospitality leaders had on their mind.
Beyond the Presentation
The hospitality industry has continued to run throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. Workers in the industry have had many different challenges to work through in the past year. These challenges have come in addition to learning about all the technologies that Microsoft 365 provides. It is difficult to troubleshoot Microsoft 365 in one morning, but our time at PATH 2021 was an opportunity to showcase the platform and what it can offer to hospitality leaders.
Beyond the presentation, it was beyond exciting to travel to a new city after being vaccinated for COVID-19. The undeniable energy of Las Vegas carried us through from start-to-finish. Nick and I explored The Strip and Fremont Street, giving us the chance to experience two unique flavors of Sin City.
